B.Sc. (Apparel Fashion Designing - AFD)
B.Sc Apparel Fashion Designing course is designed to cater for the knitwear industry’s need with more creative and professional approach required in the post WTO era. The course includes all subjects relating to the technical, creative and managerial aspects of apparel manufacturing starting from a two dimensional design on paper to three dimensional garment. Designing and Manufacturing versatile clothing with emphasis on Computer Aided Designing and Manufacturing technologies enable the students to carry a wide creative knowledge from the institution. The course also prepares the students to understand the ins and outs of the industry through their internship, craft documentation and Earn while Learn scheme. Though it is a demanding career we mould the students to combine their creativity with managerial skills to sustain in this industry.
B.Sc., (Garment Production and Processing - GPP)
B.Sc (GPP) is a three year degree course specially designed to develop technicians to cater to the needs of garment production and wet processing industries. The curriculum is so designed that the students undergoing this course gain in-depth knowledge about apparel production and textile processing technologies. The curriculum also includes subjects such as basic textiles, knitting technology, woven fabrics & design, computer aided designing, garment costing & export documentation, Fashion merchandising, and total quality management. It also provides practical knowledge through laboratory classes in Pattern Making, Dyeing, Printing, Finishing, Quality Assurance and CAD. The students after the completion this course are absorbed and positioned in different levels in apparel and processing industries as Quality Controller, Assistant Merchandiser, and Production Manager.
B.Sc., (Fashion Apparel Management-FAM)
The course contains technology and management components in the area of Apparel Industry. The Technology of fabrication, processing, garmenting and quality control are the core subjects for the syllabi of this course along with fashion and managerial techniques. The career prospect of this course is vast and the students of this course can choose any technical area of textile as his/her career option and placement records show that the students of this course are in an advantageous in various positions of the industry.
B.Sc., (Apparel Manufacturing and Merchandising - AMM)
To enhance the practical exposure on Apparel Manufacturing and Merchandising and to inculcate both managerial and technical knowledge to the students and trained them in export merchandising management. To enhance the executional skills of students by giving more assignments, surveys, projects and case studies. To impart practical exposure write from fibre to logistics management to enhance the competencies of the students.
B.Com. (Garment Cost Accounting-GCA)
The main objective of this course is to introduce methods to cut the cost of knitwear productions. To compete at the global level cutting the cost of knitwear products will go a long way and increase the export business. With this aim in mind the department works in collaboration with the auditors association of Tirupur. The students are exposed to all sorts of techniques to cut the production cost. |
