DEPARTMENT OF MERCHANDISING
HISTORY
The Primary vision of this Department is to give exposure to the latest developments in the Knitwear Industry. In association with all departments, steps are taken to enhance the managerial as well as the technical competencies of the students.
ACHIEVEMENTS
The Department conducted a programme on "Sustainable Quality and CSR" in Knitwear Industry in association with an Italian consultancy firm CITER in 2006.
A part time course on Textile Costing and Programming was conducted in 2006 on Garment Costing and Programming to the people working in the Industry.
A QUALITY MANUAL was prepared to highlight the importance of quality control techniques to help the students and the industrialists.
To create entrepreneurial culture among the students and the people in the industry EDC - ENTREPREUNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL was launched in March 2010.
totally 60 case studies have been done on various topics by the department.
